The Halloween 'Knock, knock' doors.

 The Halloween 'Knock, knock' doors.

Subject

Almost any vocabulary and the accompanying structures.

Group size:

Suitable for all class sizes

Team teaching game?

Can be played with one teacher.

Materials

The ‘Knock, knock doors’, every classroom should have some.

Small vocabulary cards to place behind each door.

Vocabulary goes behind the doors. Use colours or numbers to identify each. Use a magnet to keep the door shut until you need it open.

Game set up.

Play on the board or he carpet.

Drill the vocabulary and structures being used.

Simply place the target language behind each door/window.

Identify winning/losing objects.

Throw in a danger ‘person/object’ or two to make up for any lack of vocabulary or just because you can... Halloween monsters are always good value.

Ramp up the ‘ham’ acting.

Playing rules.

Choose a colour. “I like …”

“Open the door.”

Identify the objects, make your structures and award points to those finding ‘winning’ cards.

Variations.

Use your imagination and the possibilities are endless.

I’ll be using a version of this for Christmas too.

Richard’s comments. Perfect for a party.
