Richard’s comments. |
Easy. Fun for the smaller
students. Money for old rope. As it is an active game you really have to monitor
your risks. I play two students at a time. It’s a
good game and the smaller students generally like the active games for a
change. Be careful though this is not unanimous especially with smaller
children. You know your class… |
|
Group size: |
For safety I only have two play at one time |
|
Team teaching game? |
Two would be better. |
|
Materials |
Flash cards. Pegs
with ribbon attached. 1 per teacher. |
|
|
|
|
|
Drill the vocabulary and select two cards. I play two students at a time. Health and safety warning. It’s a running around game so be aware of the
potential hazards. Show the cards and identify a ‘target’ for each
student. Attach
the flash cards to the ribbon using the peg. |
|
Playing rules. |
Now simply ‘catch the…’ Pull the flashcard using the ribbon and the peg until
the student grabs the flash card. (Flying objects can also be lifted off of
the ground.) Now
drill your vocabulary and/or structures before resetting and playing again
with another pair. |
|
Variations. |
For a
bit of fun try giving the students the card and chasing after them… |
I think games are a great way to support your English lessons. This is a store of the games I use in my lessons. Hopefully You can find something useful for you too.
