Halloween 'Musical chairs'. |

A game primarily for learning vocabulary. It will
work for structures too… |

A really simple game that will work with really well
with younger students. |

Materials |
All you will need is your
Halloween vocabulary cards. You need to decide which Halloween cards to use for
the ‘danger cards’. |
|
|
|
|
Game set up. |
Introduce and drill your
vocabulary before you begin. Lay your vocabulary cards
out on the floor in a circle and go through the words. (For young students you can count the cards or repeat the drill as you put them down.) Mix the vocabulary 50:50 with danger cards in the
first round and with one winning card in the second round. (Very small students probably don’t need rounds.) |
|
Playing rules. |
Move around the circle to Halloween music. When the ‘music’ stops touch a card. Do not turn over the card. Turn the cards up together on the count of three. Go through the vocabulary and select winners and losers. Now repeat for the second round. Play as many games as time allows, drilling each
time. |
|
Variations. |
Instead of music you could
just use vocal commands like walk, hop run…etc. Works for Christmas too… |
