I
don’t see any reason why the concept couldn’t work in many different
situations. Good for learning about sentence structures and substitution |
|
Group
size: |
Suitable
for classes of up to 8 in teams of two or individually. |
|
Team
teaching game? |
Can
be played with one teacher. More help can give extra support to the
individual teams. That will make everything more productive. |
|
Materials |
Basic question cards or your own prepared sentences taken from the topic of the day. You
will need access to the board (Or something to write on) |
|
Game
set up. |
This
is a game to play at the table. |
|
Playing
rules. |
Simply ask a basic question of the group. Go through the formal answer and practice. Now in you teams change one word at a time in the
sentence. One point for each change. Review each change on the board. Encourage the students to have a bit of fun with the
answers. Silly phrases are fine if the grammar is correct. In
fact why not encourage funny sentences? |
|
|
What
is your name? John
is your name. John
is your horse. John
is my horse. |
My
name is John. My
friend is John. My
friend is running. My
nose is running. |
|
|
Variations. |
Take
alternates from other teams from the same word position for a bonus point. Mistakes
are out or occur a penalty. |
