Richard’s comments. |
As it is an individual
exercise, it is a nice activity for the older students at the beginning of a
lesson if some tend to drift in later than others. You can throw a little activity on the board for
anytime to fill a little gap. |
|
Group size and level: |
Any class size. It is an individual activity. Elementary school and upwards. |
|
Team teaching game? |
Some students may need help. |
|
Materials |
Prepared anagrams for the
board. (An anagram is simply a word with the letters scrambled.) Take the vocabulary from your
unit or from previous units so the students can find them in the textbook. It is important that they can source the answer from
somewhere. |
|
Game set up. |
Simply place the Anagrams on the board. |
|
Playing rules. |
Simply solve the anagrams.
Couldn’t be simpler. |
|
Variations. |
May well work for short phrases too. See my ‘Basic questions’ anagrams game. |
|
The ‘anagrams pot’ A pot of subject specific
anagrams pre-prepared and dropped in a pot or envelope. Are you ready to take
a pot luck.
‘Time.’ (Days, months, time references etc.) ‘Place.’ (Countries, shops, buildings etc.) ‘Activities.’ (Games, hobbies, sports etc.) |
