The weather ‘lucky dip’ game. | |
Subject | Any outdoor activity For structures with a positive or negative response. |
Group size: | Classes 1-8 |
Team teaching game? | Can be played with one teacher |
Materials | All you will need is your vocabulary cards and a set of ‘O’ ‘X’ cards. (About 50/50 or 60/40). In this case to follow the weather theme I’m using good and bad weather cards. |
Game set up. |
Lay your vocabulary cards out on the floor in a circle and go through the words. (For practice, you can count the cards.) Add the ‘O’ ‘X’ weather cards face down. One under each card. |
Playing rules. |
Move around the circle. When the ‘music’ stops touch a card. Go through the vocabulary and or structures. And have a point for saying the vocabulary. Check the cards beneath to find the winners and losers. (1 pt for a ‘X’ if you say the sentences. Bonus point for a ‘O’.) Now repeat for the second round and play as many games as time allows. |
|
Variations. |
|
It will work with almost any topic or structure. |
